The round table conference was held by Yahya khan on 16th march 1971 at Dhaka. Yahya Khan planned to complete the necessary strategies to accomplish the Operation Searchlight in which about 7-8000 people were killed in a night and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman was arrested for his political works of freeing the Bengal. It was just pretended by yahya khan that he was transferring the power of ruling East Pakistan to the Awami league. But he just came to Dhaka to make sure that all the arrangements for Operation Searchlight were done to execute the plan. hope it helps
