Salt March was conducted between of 12th March, 1930 to 6th April, 1930.
This was the first nonviolent movement against the British salt monopoly and it gained worldwide attention.
Afterward, it gave serious inputs on the Indian independence movement and started the nationwide Civil Disobedience Movement.
By protesting against the taxation of the British, this was chosen as the beginning for the civil disobedience movement.
