The sepoy mutiny of 1857 failed in Assam due to following reasons:-
1)The rebels of the struggle were very few and the supporters of Maniram Dewan were confined to upper Assam only.
2) The leaders of the rebellion failed to understand the importance of time and as a result the British got a lot of time for defense.
3) The leaders of the revolt failed to maintain their secrecy and as a result the British came to know the entire plan.
