The temporary mount of leaf epidermal peel pinkish red under the microscope because it was stained by safranine and mounted in glycerine 

The epidermal peel is stained in safranine so that the cells are clearly visible by the characteristic red color which is departed by the safranine , usually to study plasmolysis in leaf cells rhoeo leafs are selected as their color makes them clearly visible under the microscope ..they need not be stained in this case................
