Why was there a confict between rajaram mohan roy and orthodox hindus

There was a conflict between Raja Rammohan Roy and orthodox hindus because their ideas about sati were totally conflicting.Roy thought that it is injustice to widows. On the other hand orthodox hindus were in favour of sati pratha.
