it was so because of all the cotton mills which released heavy amount of black smoke into the environment directly, people always confused with that the vegetation is grey and the sky is black .....
the condition was so bad that the people suffered from suffocation .... and
close proximity added to this
often the household courses included usage of coal in the in the domestic household courses but the main pollutants were the industries which ruined the situation to worst
