Treaty of Versailles with the Allies was a harsh and humiliating peace. Germany lostits overseas colonies, a tenth of its population, 13 per cent of its territories, iron and coal to France, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania.

Germany was demilitarised to reduse it's power which made it's people think weimar republic as a weak govt.
