your answer is here,

water cannot be used as barometric liquid because it's density is lower than Mercury .water's density is 1000 gram per cubic meter.hence it requires a barometer whose height is around 11 meters.

Answer:

It has been found that atmospheric pressure can support 10.34m of water because density of water is 13.6 times less than the mercury. Thus, s a water barameters will support 10.34m of water. Since it is very difficult to have a tube of 10.34m length, a water barometer is an impracticable idea. Moreover, water vaporises under vacuum condition; therefore a water barameters will never show a true atmospheric pressure.
