Why water conservation is more essential in north-western India.

There is need for conserving water because of the following reasons: Water is rapidly becoming a scarce resource. India is facing an acute shortage of water supply. India receives about 4 percent of the global precipitation and ranks 133 in the world in terms of availability of water per person in a year.
