Water is one of the most important substances on earth. All plants and animals must have water to survive. If there was no water there would be no life on earth. Apart from drinking it to survive, people have many other uses for water

Water is essential for all vital processes of the body. It forms 70% of the body weight.

It is essential for all the reactions taking place in the cell of our body.

It helps in removal of wastes products in the form of urine from our body.

Blood contains a large amount of water and because of this, blood is able to circulate in arteries and veins and transport oxygen, carbon dioxide, nutrients, hormones and minerals.

Water helps in maintaining uniform body temperature by distributing heat. In summer, our body produces sweat which on evaporation from the skin helps to keep the body cool.
