Water : It is essential fro all vital processes of the body. It forms 70% of the body weight.


Functions -

  • It is essential for the reactions taking place in cells of our body.
  • It helps in the removal of waste products in the form of urine from our body.
  • Blood contains a large amount of water and because of this, blood is able to circulate in arteries and veins and transports oxygen, carbon dioxide, nutrients, hormones, and minerals.
  • Water helps in maintaining uniform body temperature by distributing heat. In summer, our body produces sweat which on evaporation from the skin helps to keep the body cool.
