★ Electrical appliances at home mainly connected in parallel.

★ It is because, in parallel connections, same voltage appears across each appliance.

Disadvantages of a series circuit :

The advantages of connecting electrical appliances in parallel with the battery, instead of connecting them in series :

$\bullet \: \:$ When one devices fails, the circuit is not broken and other components keep working.
