why we multiply a rational number by a number by both its numerator and denominator as is we multiplied it with 2/2 as 2/2 is equal to 1 so what is the profit??

It's because when we multiply a fraction or a rational number with any number in both the numerator and the denominator it just increases its value by that number you multiplied it and can be reduced to its original form when cancelled!
