Answer:

Power(p)=1000 W.

Voltage(V)=220 V

current (I)=P/V

I=1000/220=100/22=4.5 A.

So,5 A fuse is required to prevent short circuiting.

The current of the electric iron is 5 A in order to prevent short circuiting.

Explanation:

Given that,

Power of the electric iron, P=1\ kW=1000\ W

Voltage, V = 220 V

The power of an electrical appliances is given by the product of voltage and current. It is given by :

P=V\times I\\\\I=\dfrac{P}{V}\\\\I=\dfrac{1000\ W}{220\ V}\\\\I=4.54\ A\\\\or\\\\I=5\ A

So, the current of the electric iron is 5 A in order to prevent short circuiting.
