WHY WE SHOULD NOT ADD ACID TO WATER, BUT RATHER ADD WATER TO ACID?

water is added to acid to dilute it and it is an exothermic reaction. if water is added to acid they test tube or the container may break out and the solution comes out rapidly.

If water is added to acid, the test tube or the container may break and there may be an axplosion as it is a highly exothermic reaction. So, we add acid to water in order to dilute it.
