we write 'I' in capital because the word I is a NOUN ....like in sentences like .....I am very hungry, can I borrow ur pencil, etc .
I is plural and is thus followed by have in present perfect or present perfect continuous tense.

‘I ‘ was derived from it's German equivalent ‘ich’. During that period, it (I) wasn't capitalised. Its pronunciation later changed to simple ‘I‘. Even at that time, it was in lower case.
But once, Chaucer, the father of English literature, penned a book in which the size of the letter increased significantly.
From then, the word was used in upper case.
