Electrolytes are substances which, when dissolved in water, break up into cations (plus-charged ions) and anions (minus-charged ions). We say they ionize. Strong electrolytesionize completely (100%), while weak electrolytes ionize only partially (usually on the order of 1–10%).

weak electrolytes are the substances which partially dissolve in water and don't dissociate completely to form ions. hence strong exchanger is required so that these can dissociate comoletely and form ions(cation and anion).
