Why were droughts a great calamity for the people ?

People do not think of drought in the same manner as other natural disaster like floods because drought causes worst health and mental problems.


Its impacts stay for a long period and even for a decade.


Even though drought cannot occur very soon, it creates so many troubles, which results in the death of several people at once.


Additionally, drought can be more expensive than other calamities.


Due to this, people considered it as the great calamity.
