The famines caused under British rule were not fully because of failure of rains or floods .
It was only partly true .
Main facts are .
1. Collecting heavy taxes .
2. Over burdening the peasants .
3. No protection to land tenants .
4. No loans for purchasing seeds and fertilisers.
5. Heavy rate of interests by money lenders .
6. Fall of prices for crops .
7. No support from the British government .
8. No concern for Zamindars / land lords to improve land fertility .
