Answer:

Sanchi stupa was able to survive longer when compared to Amaravati stupa which could be examined under the following points.

1. Historical aspect: Both Stupa being originated at the same time, during 2nd century, Ashoka laid strong emphasis in propagating the Stupa culture, but after his decline, the Amaravati Stupa got declined where as Sanchi stupa persisited. The dynstaies which followed Ashoka like Sungas, Satvahanas, added certain features to Sanchi stupa.

2. The geographical factors like the kingdoms and the people associated with Buddhism were higher among the northern part of India when compared to Southern part.

3. It was said that Amaravati stupa got buried, but no effort was made by subsequent rulers to excavate or find its roots to review.

SInce both Stupa's have their own historical importance, and have played an important part in propagation and spread of Buddhism
