Sepoys were unhappy of the British rule as :-
Many of them were Hindus and Muslims , and they were very concerned about their religious individuality.
Their foreign allowance or bhatta was discontinued and they were forced to go outside India at least once , to fight.
Their anger reached their heights when the Enfield-Pritchett rifle was introduced and they revolted.
The peasants were unhappy because they were forced to grow only cash crops , leading to shortage of food crops.
