It was in the year 1940 that the "Electron Microscope" was invented by "Ernst Ruska" and "Max Knoll". It was with the help of this electron microscope that the scientists were able to observe most of the cell organelles in greater detail. Before the invention of electron microscope, there was light microscope. Using a light microscope, the details of the cell was not easily visible and hence studying the organelles of the cell in detail was not possible for the scientist.
