westerlies influence the climatic conditions in mediterranean region as the region has mainly evergreen coniferous trees which do not shed their leaves ,these trees have needle-shaped leaves,which prevent loss of moisture by transpiration .these trees are pines,spruces,firs,maples and cedars.
