So when a charged conducting sphere is grounded extra charges present flow from conductor to ground. After a time conductor looses sufficient amount of charge such that its potential reduced to ground potential.
Grounding makes the electric field of a charged substance zero and thereby make the potentials of the substance and ground a constant. i.e., there is no potential difference between the two terminals (initially charged substance and ground). So no current (charge) flows between them.
