In Favour of Democracy.

1) A Democratic Government is a more accountable form of government, thus making it a better form of government.

2) Democracy provides a method to deal with differences and conflicts among people. Often, there is social diversity due to which a lot of problems arise in the country. Democracy provides a peaceful solution to the problem.

3) Democracy enhances the dignity of the citizens. Both the poor and the rich, educated and least educated are treated equally before the law and are given the status as one another.

Against Democracy.

1) Democracy leads to corruption, for it is based on electoral competition. Due to which candidates/parties may not fulfill peoples desires when they come to power.

2) Democracy is focused on political competition and power play. There is no scope for morality.

3) A lot of people have to be negotiated in the decision-making process which leads to waste of time/delay.
