Due to diffusion water from outside enter into the cell.water moves from higher concentration to lower concentration.Diffusion leads to increased water accumulation in cells which eventually leads to bursting of cells.such cells are called 'ghost cells'.They are used in studying cell membrane under microscope.

Due to the diffusion water from outside the cell the water enter inside the cell
The plant cells have the cell wall which prevent the cell from bursting due to the pressure exerted by the water retained by the cell
Since animals do not have any cell wall so the animal cell burst out.
