lets suppose x=1 the next consecutive odd no. after 1 is 3 which is equal to 2 plus 1 that is what they want to say x and x+2

as they are telling to take odd consecutive numbers like 5,7...etc. so, we are taking x and x+2... let us assume that x is 5 so, next odd number will be 5+2=7
if, we take x+1 the next consecutive odd number after 5 will be 5+1=6 but it is not an odd number.
