Plants take in Carbon dioxide from the environment, take water from the soil and the sunlight again from the environment, but plants also release oxygen in the air and breathe in that oxygen. So if there would be no plants no one will release oxygen in the air and no one will purify the air. Hence, without photosynthesis life on the Earth will not be possible.
