Whywas not the revolt widespread?

During the 1857 Mutiny revolt, there was disunity among the states in India.

This was the primary cause why the revolt was not widespread and unsuccessful.

It lacked proper planning and execution.

This revolt did not move beyond North India. Sind, Punjab and Rajasthan kept quiet.

Zamindars were happy with the British so they did not budge!
