when compass is kept near a current carrying conductor it deflects.....because current carrying conductor creates magnetic field then y do it deflects in the environment...as we use it to find directions
Our earth also acts like a magnet it also has its North and South poles
the direction in which the compass shows north pole is actually the magnetic attraction towards the south pole of the earth
