(a)

1+2+3=180 as these are the angles of a triangle
3+4=180 as these are linear pairs

From these two equarions we get 1+2=4
This means that exterior angle is equal to the sum of the two nonadjacent angles

(b)

1+2+3=180

So 3=180-(52+25)
=180-77
=103
Angle 4=77
