if u know that from light is entering from where and image form where.then u don't need to remember.

The basic things u have to keep in mind is the lights's path of travelling ,the object position, and u understand and learn any two rules out of the four rules for image formation by mirrors and lens..So if u know two rules u could use it to find the image and all...
So learn those concepts clearly...
