The nuclear charge experienced by the valence electrons decreases down the group as the outermost electrons are farther away from the nucleus.

The metallic character increases down the group, as they can lose electrons easily because of the reason given in the second paragraph.

Similarly, non non metallic character decreases down the group as it is hard for them to gain electrons because again of the reason given in second paragraph.
