Let cost of one bottle of milk be x and available money be y

According to Question,

5x = y + 2.75

3x = y - 2.15

Now, we can simply subtract both equations to eliminate the y term.

5x - 3x = y - y + 2.75 + 2.15

2x = 4.9

x = 2.45

Now, to find y, we put the value of x in our previous equation

5(2.45) = y + 2.75

12.25 - 2.75 = y

y = 9.5

So, the cost of each bottle was 2.45 and the money he had was 9.5
