In the late 19th century, poets like William Wordsworth, T.S.Coleridge fought for the revival of the Romantic revival as a reaction against the harshness of the Modern society. They wanted to revive the time which got lost while we were busy celebrating the evils of the Industrialization and Urbanization.  Coleridge and Wordsworth are said to be the most active member for the revival of Romanticism.  The reflection of internal beauty which enhances the outer structure of a person was one of the characteristics of the Romanticism. According to the Romantics, the internal realities and imagination are the ideal conceptions which give inspiration to one.

The poem “Old Man Travelling” has been written by William Wordsworth in which he speaks about the life and journey of an old man. He highlights the loneliness and sufferings the man has undergone in his life. Wordsworth points out the main theme of the poem that men are born alone in the world and they live alone too. The man is walking alone and had accepted the fact that one day he has to die one day. Though we spend our lives in the beautiful world one day we all have to leave the world and die. The man has accepted the death of his son and has understood that it is the nature which is always present and not the humans.

William Wordsworth in his poem "A SLumber did my Spirit Seal" denotes death as "slumber" or deep sleep. He says that in his entire life he was in the state of "slumber" and because of this sleep he was not able to realize that one day death will take away his Lucy from him. He felt miserable when he woke up after the death of Lucy and find that Lucy has gone away from him. Lucy left behind her thoughts and feelings for the poet. She left her presence in every thing.
