Soil contains mineral matter, organic matter, water and air. For any fixed volume of soil, the amount of air present in soil varies according to the water content. Therefore decreasing the water content of a soil below the shrinkage limit will increase the air content but soil volume will remain the same.

Hope its help..

In chemistry neutralization or neutralisation is a chemical reaction in which acid and a base react quantitatively with each other. In a reaction water, neutralization results in there being no excess of hydrogen or hydroxide ions present in the solution.
