With an unprecedented increase in diseases, especially among the youth, it is the need of the hour to understand that eating habits have a direct effect on health and hence lifestyle. An ideal lifestyle is one wherein a healthy person can comfortably participate in activities according to his/her age.

To begin with, life is a precious gift that should be cherished, and not wasted. In order to enjoy life, one needs to safeguard one’s health by watching what one eats. If an individual allows the taste buds to rule, health will be compromised. Once health is compromised, life becomes extremely challenging, with doctor visits, expenses and a multitude of restrictions.

The purity of food is an important part of food safety. As much as possible, consumables should be bought from trustworthy places, where hygiene is maintained. Cheaply available food could be unhygienic and adulterated. Consumption of sub-standard food can cause a lot of inconvenience and pain. An ideal lifestyle requires the person to be healthy, not sick.

Additionally, the latest fads involve fast food and packaged junk. Though these foods may be safe from the hygiene point of view, medically speaking, they are time bombs waiting to explode. Besides clogging the digestive system with unwanted matter, they also contribute to obesity and heart problems. Therefore safe foods are those that do not harm the body and allow the individual to enjoy an illness free and active life.

Life is full of choices. However, there are times when one choice is clearly better than the other, like choosing safe food. Such decisions need a conscious effort, but are worth it in the long run.

Answer:

Eating is important and essential, however, excess or lack of eating is dangerous. In fact, eating is not natural instinct but a skill that needs to be taught and change according to age and body mass of the individuals. Healthy eating is a way of life and its importance cannot be isolated from every day reality. At the same time, this is the repsonsibility of the schools also to instruct and provide healthy food to the students. Interventions targeted at healthy eating need to occur early in childhood and adolescence in order to prevent or reverse the adverse effects of overweight or poor eating habits. It is now up to the schools to take the matter in hand. Schools are the ones who influence most as they are nearest to the child. They have to contribute directly to the study of healthy eating. And I am sure that if students learn the habit of safe eating, they will lead an ideal lifestyle.
