-: ELECTRIC MOTOR:-

Electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

Electric motor is based on the fact that a current carrying conductor placed perpendicular to the magnetic field and experiences a force.

{\huge{\mathrm{\underline{\purple{Construction\::}}}}}

1.Armature coil -

It consists of a loop of an insulated copper wire , folded in a rectangular form.

2.Strong field magnet -

Armature coil is placed between two magnets. So, armature coil is placed between a strong magnetice field.

3.Two split -rings (halves)-

It consists of two halves of a magnetic ring. The inner sides of these halves are insulated and attached to an axle.

4.Brushes-

The outer surface of ring halves remain in contact with two carbon brushes.

These brushes press against the ring halves and provide electric supply to the ring halves.

5.Battery or electric supply-

A battery or electric supply is used to run the motor.The supply give to the coil ,via brushes and ring halves.
