Solution:

_____________________________________________________________

Given:

A right pyramid in egypt is 150m high, and has a square base with a side 220m.

h = 150m,.

a = 220m,.

_____________________________________________________________

To Find :

Volume & LSA of square pyramid
_____________________________________________________________

Volume of pyramid =  \frac{1}{3} a^2h

 =>  \frac{1}{3} (150)(220)(220)

=> (50)(220)(220)

=> (50)(48400)

=> 2420000m³.
____________________________

To calculate the Lateral Surface Area of square pyramid

We need to know it's slant height ,.

Slant height =  \sqrt{(height)^2 + ( \frac{side}{2})^2}

=>   \sqrt{(150)^2 + (110)^2}

=>  \sqrt{22500 + 12100}

=>  \sqrt{34600} ≈ 186.73 ≈ 186 m

And hence,

LSA = 4 x area of triangular sides,

=> 4 x  \frac{1}{2} bh

=> 2 x 220 x 186

=> 440 x 186

=> 81840m²
