If a modern day manager were to place personal interests above organisational interests he would be failing in his duties and betraying the trust reposed in him by the stakeholders on whose behalf he is running the business organisation.
An effective professional manager will always strike a balance between organisational interests and his own interests, realising at every stage it is incumbent upon him to efficiently run the business.
Ideally, today's managers are conscious of their rights as much as responsibilities. It is not unfair to have high personal expectations, but at the same time their contribution to the organisation is of paramount importance.
