Transfer of Capital: In order to rule the whole Indian Sub-continent, he shifted his capital from Delhi to Daulatabad. He ordered the whole population of Delhi as well royal household including scholars, poets, musician to move new capital. During the relocation, many people died. By the time people reached Daulatabad, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq changed his mind and decided to abandon the new capital and move to his old capital Delhi. It is believed that he wished to shift the capital as a safeguard measure from Mongol Invasion. The plan of shifting capital was completely failed.
The tax on the Ganga Yamuna Doab was increased and was opposed by the people. And later on failed.
He introduced Token Currency. During 14th century, there was a shortage of silver throughout the world. He introduced copper coin at par with the value of silver coins which cause economic chaos. He then withdrew the copper coin and issues an order to the people to exchange copper coins with gold and silver coins from the royal treasury.
Mohammad Tughlaq success with the Mongol in the initial year and his rule fuelled his desire to add more territories to his empire. he launched 2 campaigns to capture Central Asia and Iraq that were again failed
His schemes failed because of his fool campaigns that were later opposed by the people of his empire.
