The road not taken is not a simple poem as it seems on the surface. The roads symbolise different options in life when man makes a choice. The stood at a juncture in when he had to make a choice. The 2 roads are different professions. The poet was chamberd by both the professions.
He chose the profession which had been taken by lesser number of people. However,he wanted to take the second profession some other day.He hoped that he would come again to the starting point and would take the second road I.e., the second profession but it did never happen. He went on and on in his life.He could not come again and take the first road and strongly this made all difference in Poet's life.In this way the moral dilemma of choice is at the centre of the poem. The Poet's helplessness at Not been able to take the first road showed it clearly
