The second world war catalysed various efforts and movements prevelant in India at that moment to intensify their struggle and wrest independence from the British. They tried to get a commitment regarding independence from the British in exchange for their support . The British signalled their intentions to concede power to India to garner public support. However, Bose tried to join with the enemies of Britain to chase them from India. The developments during war can be summarized as below.
