Answer:

1/Req  = 1/R₁  +1/R₂  + 1/R₃ +.........................+ 1/Rₙ

Explanation:

Let say there are n Resistors Connected in Parallell

R₁ , R₂ , R₃ ,...........................Rₙ

And Volatge applied = V

as resistance are in parallel so voltage across Each Resistance = V

Curren through each resistore respectively

I₁ , I₂ , I₃ ................................ Iₙ

Total Current I = I₁ + I₂ + I₃ +................................+ Iₙ

=> V/Req  = V/R₁  +V/R₂  + V/R₃ +.........................+ V/Rₙ

dividing by V both sides

=> 1/Req  = 1/R₁  +1/R₂  + 1/R₃ +.........................+ 1/Rₙ

hence the reciprocal of equivalent resistance of the combination is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of the individual resistances of the resistors.
