Flow chart to show breakdown of glucose in cell in different cases to provide energy is as follow:---

●In all the three cases the first step is breakdown of glucose to a three carbon molecule called as pyruvate

i】In the presenceof oxygen :--

The pyruvate in mitochondria breaks into carbon diaoxide and water this is aerobic respiration and energy is very high.

ii】In the absence of oxygen:--

In absence of oxygen the pyruvate breaks to ethanol and carbon diaoxide, process take place in ueast during fermentation and is called anaerobic respiration.

iii】In lack of oxygen:---

When there is lack of oxygen in our muscle cells pyruvate is converted to lactic acid which is also three carbon molecules and this build up of lactic acid causes cramps in our muscles.
