Without friction we cannot set out the bodies in motion or stop the moving bodies. Thus friction is absolutely necessary for carrying day to day activities. On the other hand, it also wastes the time and energy, brings about wear and tear and slows down the motion. Eg
1.because of friction that we can walk on road 2.we can write with chalk on blackboard with chalk
3. to burn a matchstick
