On preparing the slides Mitosis can be observed in the following consecutive stages:
• Interphase- This is the resting phase between the division of cells when a new cells rest before it prepares to divide.
• Prophase- The chromosomes condense, and at their ends protein microtubules form which gets elongated to divide the chromosomes later.
• Metaphase- the condensed chromosomes align along the center equator of the cell and prepare to divide.
• Anaphase- Chromatids are formed and moves to the two poles of the cell.
• Telophase- two new nuclear envelops develops around the chromatids
• Cytokinesis- the cells divide into two.
