Bond order of Hydrogen is one and it is diamagnetic substance

Explanation:

According to MOT hydrogen molecule is formed by the combination of two hydrogen atoms.

  • Total no. of electrons in hydrogen molecule = 1+1 = 2
  • Electronic configuration is \sigma 1s^2\sigma^* 1s^0
  • Molecular Orbital Energy Level Diagram can be represented as below
  • Bond order =\frac{N_b-N_a}{2}

                  =\frac{2-0}{2}=1

  • And there are no unpaired electrons in molecular orbitals. Hence it is              diamagnetic molecule.

Explanation:

According to MOT hydrogen molecule is formed by the combination of two hydrogen atoms.

Total no. of electrons in hydrogen molecule = 1+1 = 2

Electronic configuration is \sigma 1s^2\sigma^* 1s^0σ1s2σ∗1s0

Molecular Orbital Energy Level Diagram can be represented as below

Bond order =\frac{N_b-N_a}{2}Bondorder=2Nb−Na

                  =\frac{2-0}{2}=1=22−0=1

And there are no unpaired electrons in molecular orbitals. Hence it is              diamagnetic molecule.
