1) Leptotene: Dissolution of nuclear membrane, condensation of chromosome

2) Zygotene: Formation of bivalents/ Tetrads, formation of synapsis

3) Pachytene: Crossing over of homologous non sister chromatids

4) Diplotene : Dissolution of chiasmata marks the end of pachytene , Formation of X- Shaped structures called chiasmata.

5) Diakinesis : Termination of chiasmata, condensation of nuclear membrane.
