Take a beaker and place two electrodes in it.

Now put two test tubes in them and fill the beaker will water.

Connect the electrodes with a battery and pass current and then switch off the same.

You will see that the level falls down and H2 and O2 gases are collected in the test tubes.

H2 at cathode and O2 at anode.
